6 Great Tips to Keep Your Life Organized
As we grow older, we find that more and more things demand our time and attention. To be able to navigate through all of these with any sort of success, we must be organised. This involves the institution of structure and a system to everything that concerns us. This is of course , easier said than done. It demands utmost discipline and determination as it is easier to just go with the flow than to direct the flow.
To have control of things happening to you , there are a few things that have to be put in place. A few of them are herein discussed;
1. Effective time management
Time management plays a very important role in a person’s life. There are just 24 hours in a day, but the things you need to do need more time than that. You must be able to, at first , prioritize your activities, and then allocate hours to them. This will allow you to get more tasks or jobs done in a day. Do not procrastinate or waste time on trivial things. Keep in mind that sometimes it’s better to set deadlines for particular tasks as well.

2. Organise your space
Fix your bed as you get up from it. You might think nothing of it but doing that sets the tone for your rest of the day. It is one task done and well done at that. Always keep your space clean and uncluttered. It helps you know where things are and staves off illnesses. Try to keep the small items like paper pins, earings ,etc. In small boxes.
Organise your stuff also includes making good use of the things around you. For example, if you do not have a small box to put the small items into , then ,use plastic water bottles.
Organizing your surroundings puts you in the mood to get more things done throughout the day.

3. KEEP A JOURNAL/ TO-DO LIST
Becoming a well organized person is no easy task to many people, but it is not an impossible task. To prevent tasks from being left undone, keep a journal or create a to- do list first thing when waking up in the morning. Refer to it as the day goes on. In the digital world we live in today , the to- do list does not have to be on paper as there are apps like Evernote, wanderlust and more that can help you with this.

4. Put things in the right place
Always remember to put the things where they are supposed to be. This would make sure you do not misplace or lose items. In addition, whenever you have to do a general housecleaning, you do not have to start from scratch as things already are arranged. This would save you a lot of time & energy.

5. Recycle and donate
Before buying any new clothes or items , kindly check if you really need them. If you do, then donate the old ones to those in need. This way your place would not be full of unneeded items while you are also bringing joy to other people.

6. Keep backups
Have a backup of all your files , be it video, audio or text. This is so incase you ever lost your laptop, phone or even hard drives, your projects & documents will remain intact. Losing anything important will leave you in a panicked & disorganized mood. Have more than one back up.
