It is a desire to want to know more, a desire to find answers to questions.
Since curiosity is the mother of inventions, it then stands to mean that,
Increased curiosity = Increased innovation and invention.
So the question arises that how curiosity be nurtured ?
The following steps explains the answer very well;
1. Ask questions
The process of finding answers to our questions leads to discovery. Ask questions so you can know more !
Be open minded and pro active.
2. Think like a child
To think like a child in this context means to be open minded. To think like a child doesn’t mean to act childishly. A child’s mind is blank, absorbent and ready to learn. This is the way to think so as to increase one’s curiosity. This attribute of children is important as it pushes your desire to find out how things work and why they are the way they are. It also pushes you to be imaginative.
3. Think things through
The discipline to sit down and think things through is one that many people are yet to imbibe. Thinking is one way to increase our curiosity. This is because this forces us to see from more than one point of view. It affords us a chance to ask more questions and seek more answers.
4. Diversity
It is commonly said that variety is the spice of life. To nurture your curiosity, expand your areas of interest. Doing this broadens your spectrum of knowledge and affords you a chance to view things from the point of view of others. For instance, rap is not the only genre of music there is, neither is football the only sport. Checking and reading up about other genres of music and other sports would allow you to see why others love them, and even similarities to your own love.
